Profile
Connecting creativity, strategy, rights and long-term development.
Maarten Gish is a Dutch music manager, entrepreneur and music-rights strategist working with artists, songwriters and producers.
His work connects the creative and commercial sides of music: from artistic development, repertoire, songwriting, production and positioning to management, publishing, label strategy, distribution, rights, pitching, royalties and catalogue development.
The objective is not only to support individual releases or opportunities, but to build sustainable careers and valuable structures around music, creators and intellectual property.
Approach
Creative ambition supported by clear strategy and professional execution.
Maarten works closely with artists and creators to translate creative potential into a focused direction. This can involve sharpening an artistic identity, developing repertoire, organising collaborations, selecting partners or creating a complete career and release strategy.
Equal attention is given to the structure underneath the music: ownership, agreements, rights, metadata, administration, royalties, commercial priorities and long-term catalogue value.
Creative development
Artist identity, repertoire, songwriting, production, branding and long-term artistic direction.
Career strategy
Positioning, planning, representation, partnerships and decisions that support sustainable development.
Rights and business
Masters, publishing, songwriting splits, agreements, royalties and catalogue ownership.
Pitching and placing
Focused pitching of songs, toplines, productions and creators to suitable artists and industry partners.
Gish Music Group
Personal management, strategic guidance and selected creative projects.
Gish Music Group is the independent management and creative company founded by Maarten Gish.
We guide artists, songwriters, producers and creative entrepreneurs across career strategy, artistic development, repertoire, positioning, representation, partnerships and commercial opportunities.
Our role is tailored to each collaboration. Depending on what is required, we can operate as long-term manager, strategic adviser, representative, creative producer or project lead.
Alongside management, we develop and coordinate selected standalone projects for artists, companies, entertainment brands and creative partners. These can include original music, branded productions, campaigns, live concepts, media projects and custom creative assignments.
Gish Music Group is personal and project-driven. The wider infrastructure for publishing, labels, distribution, music pitching, rights and catalogue operations is developed through The Music Hub.
Management and projects built around the people involved.
We combine close personal guidance with the ability to assemble the right creators, specialists and commercial partners around each artist, career or project.
The Music Hub
An integrated music company for artists, creators, releases and catalogues.
The Music Hub was co-founded by Maarten Gish and producer and songwriter Rowan Smeets.
We connect management, publishing, label services, creative development, music pitching and placing, distribution, rights administration, royalties and catalogue strategy within one independent music company.
We work with artists, songwriters and producers from the first creative direction through songwriting, production, release, placement, administration and long-term exploitation.
Music pitching and placing are a central part of this model. We introduce songs, toplines, productions and creators to suitable recording artists, producers, managers, publishers, labels, A&R teams, brands and commercial projects in the Netherlands and internationally.
Alongside our own label activities, we develop and operate dedicated label imprints for artists, genres, communities, companies and partners. Each imprint can have its own identity and repertoire focus, while using the same professional foundation for rights, releases, metadata, distribution, royalties and catalogue management.
By connecting creation, ownership, releases, opportunities and income, The Music Hub approaches music as one continuous lifecycle rather than a collection of disconnected services.

Background
A career shaped by international artists, live music and the power of long-term development.
Maarten has worked professionally in music management, bookings and creative development since 2009.
He began his career working around the bookings and management of international DJs and electronic-music artists. This provided direct experience with touring, artist representation, promoters, agencies, labels, releases and the international relationships behind a music career.
Working closely with artists demonstrated that the impact of music extends far beyond an individual performance or release. Strong songs, a clear identity, the right team and well-structured rights can shape an artist’s complete career and create value that continues to grow over time.
That understanding led Maarten to broaden his work from bookings and traditional artist management into creative development, songwriting, publishing, label strategy, music rights, pitching and catalogue building.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Management from the Utrecht School of the Arts. Earlier in his career, he was also active as a DJ and producer, giving him practical experience from both the creative and business sides of the industry.
Today, his work combines those experiences: close involvement with artists and music, supported by a clear view of strategy, ownership, rights, releases, partnerships and long-term development.

Principles
Long-term thinking, clear ownership and practical execution.
Long-term over short-term
Decisions are evaluated on their effect on the full career, catalogue and business, not only immediate attention.
Creative quality first
Strategy and infrastructure should strengthen the music and the creator rather than distract from them.
Ownership matters
Masters, copyrights and catalogues are assets that should be consciously structured, protected and developed.
Execution creates value
Strategy becomes useful when it leads to better music, agreements, placements, releases, partnerships and income.
